Anticipation is building for forty of Cornwall’s top tourist establishments who have won gold, silver or bronze in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards.
Pubs and hotels, holiday parks and restaurants, visitor attractions and cafés the length and breadth of the county are quietly celebrating, having made the final “top three” in the fifteen Award categories.
Each one is now assured of winning a gold, silver or bronze award and looking forward to the Grand Awards Ceremony at St Mellion International Hotel and Country Clubon Thursday 7th October, when the winners will be announced.
Taking multiple places on the final board is a trio of sisters who own and manage The Scarlet and Bedruthan Steps Hotel in Mawgan Porth, with the hotels reaching the final in the Small and Large of the Year categories respectively. The hotels are also going head to head for the Sustainable Tourism Award alongside three other companies; Global Boarders, Primrose Valley Hotel and Newquay Zoo, as the standard of entries was so high the judges couldn’t whittle the top five down to three.
Also among the double finalists is the luxurious Roundhouse Barn Holidays in St Just-in-Roseland which has reached the final for both Small Self-Catering Establishment of the Year and B&B/Guest Accommodation of the Year. Commenting on the news, owner Barbara Sadler, was clearly delighted: “Reaching the finals in the Cornwall Tourism Awards is a tremendous lift after what has been a very busy season for the entire team. It’s fantastic that the investments we’ve made in creating five star accommodation are beginning to pay off, not only in terms of forward bookings but also external recognition. We’re very much looking forward to finding out whether we have been awarded gold, silver or bronze on the night.”
